Period: Second half of the 18th century

Sicilian nightstand measuring 75 x 63 x 33 cm in walnut with marquetry inlays from the second half of the 18th century. This nightstand, in walnut, has a dynamic and lively shape thanks to the central and especially lateral movement and above all for the arched movement of its legs. We are analyzing a piece of furniture from the great Sicilian tradition known for its skill and attention to detail; as mentioned previously, the shaped front, consisting of two drawers, divided by crosspieces and with a meticulous workmanship that enhances its shape, while the movement of the sides is further enhanced, in addition to the movement, by the herringbone workmanship. The final result, including marble at the top, gives the idea of a lively and cheerful piece of furniture capable of dispensing elegance and sobriety in the context in which it stands.
