Venetian desk from the first half of the 18th century made entirely of walnut burl with cherry wood fillets and an incredible internal safe measuring 145 x 80 x 75 cm. The desk is characterized by a horizontal top, the two side drawers that flank the central empty space for the chair and the writer's legs, the central drawer under the shelf for pens, pencils and other writing tools. The top is veneered in walnut. The elongated front is joined to the sides of the structure with strips. The front, open in the center under a lower drawer, has four drawers on the right and left, separated by thin crosspieces framed by a rectangular fillet. This piece of furniture testifies to all the flair and executive skill that characterized the products of Venetian cabinet making in the 18th century. Another important feature of this central desk is the rigorous essentiality of the design that unites all parts of the piece, including the calibrated sequence of drawers that frame the central compartment open on the front, in harmony with the lucid clarity of the other sides, the austere elegance of the linear design that contours the volumes in an airy way, coldly declining the robust supports, so robust as to have to guard a heavy safe inside the second drawer below. The work, like all our objects, is sold accompanied by a FIMA photographic certificate of authenticity and lawful origin; this document identifies the object, adding value to the item.
