Period: 18th century
SOLD 18th century Dutch mahogany roll-top desk from the second half of the 18th century, measuring 115 x 130 x 60 cm. This desk is constructed internally in oak. On the front, there are three drawers, surmounted by a roll-top door that conceals a bureau with compartments and drawers. On the desk surface, there is an antique velvet insert. The surface is richly inlaid in maple and stained maple with floral motifs, while on the sides, cascades of truly refined and well-proportioned floral arrangements emerge from two large cornucopias. The handles are in chiseled and gilded bronze. This Dutch roll-top desk is truly decorated in every part with rich inlays of cornucopias, vases, floral and leafy elements in maple wood. The internal part with 4 drawers and a central drawer, completely inlaid, with an alternation of light and dark woods, is delightful, capable of giving elegance and airiness to the entire piece of furniture. This piece of furniture, in excellent condition, comes from a private home. The paintings and works of art published here are my exclusive property and, consequently, are always available to be viewed in person, by appointment, at my exhibition venues located in Sanremo and Brescia. The work, like all our objects, is sold with a FIMA photographic certificate of authenticity and legal provenance; this document identifies the object, adding value to the item. We personally take care of and organize the packaging and shipping of works of art with insurance worldwide. Dr. Riccardo Moneghini Art Historian
