Louis XV Veneto Kneeler, 18th Century
Period: 18th century
Price:
€ 1.900
Measures H x L x P
The kneeler is an example of transformation, which took place in the Renaissance, of a church furnishing into a domestic piece of furniture with a logical reduction in proportions and small modifications that make it more suitable for the new destination.
This kneeler, measuring 80 x 48 x 52 cm, was made in the first half of the 18th century, a period in which the sculptural forms of richly carved furniture of the mature Baroque had reached their maximum exuberance.
This piece of furniture is an elegant and refined kneeler with a sophisticated decoration and construction, with great formal balance, supported by bracket feet, with three drawers in walnut, walnut burr, and fillets, the interior in walnut, and a hinged top.
