Oil on canvas painting, measuring 55 x 40 cm without frame and 62 x 47 cm with frame, depicting a young woman from the early 18th century, Venetian school. A truly charming painting, symbol of a Venetian painting style that is changing, moving from magnificence to grace, straight lines, and the play of curves; this is the period preceding the Rococo, which in Italy had more harmonious characteristics than elsewhere. In this painting, we can note the typical themes of Rococo, namely the draped fabrics visible in this truly fine and delightful dress, with colors that flood the canvas with decorative richness. However, by analyzing the girl's face and her grace and elegance, we can see how the intent is to convey an aesthetic that is not only "ethical" but also an attempt to express, through sensitivity, emotions that are sometimes courtly and at other times more frivolous. This freedom of decoration and this grace of colors are an essential part of Venetian Rococo painting. A painting full of grace and refinement, a typical example of the great moment that Venetian painting was experiencing in those years.
