Ferrarese chest of drawers from the mid-1800s SOLD
Period: Second half of the 19th century
Measures H x L x P
SOLD Emilian chest of drawers measuring 90 x 118 x 60 cm, with three drawers featuring a double central curve and a lateral curve made of walnut, walnut burl, and cherry wood fillets. A highly detailed chest of drawers distinguished by the elegance of its shapes, lines, and execution. The intricate central movement, in the Venetian compositional style, combines the Emilian flair in the use of materials and robust structure. The raised legs, as usual, are widened, tall, and with a prominent curve up to the neck; the sides with a beautiful lateral curve and the top edged with an ogee molding, with head woods on the drawer dividers, constitute a mark of great cabinetmaking. The central Emilian cut of this piece of furniture is generally characterized by the squared side with a slight rounding, the broken central lines with double curvature, and its substantiality. The use of strong fillets and the richness of the burl are always present in these high-quality furnishings. The paintings and art objects published here are my exclusive property and are therefore always available for viewing in person, by appointment, at my exhibition locations in Sanremo and Brescia. The work, like every object of ours, is sold with a FIMA photographic certificate of authenticity and lawful origin; this document identifies the object, adding value to the item. We personally handle and organize the packaging and shipping of artwork with insurance worldwide. Dr. Riccardo Moneghini Art Historian
